The Sunset Lounge
A follow up to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight by [livejournal.com profile] calenfenwen

Because sometimes 4.5 books isn't enough.

AN: I wrote this for my friend Megan at work who was reading the series for the first time. She wanted to know if there was another book after Breaking Dawn and she was sad to hear there wasn't. She jokingly told me to write it for her, and because I'm awesome, I decided to take her up on that offer.

I've been writing this during my free time at work so technically I got paid to write this. Kidding. This isn't supposed to be taken seriously and I haven't looked it over with a critical eye so if you spot something, I'll fix it. Also, I don't have a real plot outlined in my head. I started writing this after Megan started teasing me about being alone for an hour with practically no work to do and that I would have nothing to do. I have no idea what I'm doing.

The students at Winchester High seemed to pause simultaneously and openly stare at the six beautiful people who were too perfect and wonderful for words to describe. Simply beautiful. The girl's hair seemed silky soft and moved gracefully in the breeze, while the facial structure of the guys seemed to rival that of Grecian Gods. The school gave a collected sign at the beautiful people's sudden appearance but it didn't seem to faze them at all. Perfection has landed at Winchester High and everybody had the same thing on their minds, "Who are these angels and are they single?"

"It's the same thing at every school," Bella signed as she leaned into Edward.

"Juneau wasn't so bad," Jasper said giving Bella a teasing punch.

"Well their thoughts are clean, so far no one suspects the mysterious Cullens of anything but being gorgeous," Edward replied.

"It'll be fine," Alice chirped. "You can bet on it. Perfectly normal for a change."

"How is an eternity as a vampire anything remotely normal?" asked Emmett.

"An eternity together is worth the abnormalities," Bella said and gave Edward a quick kiss.

"You know that you just disappointed a huge fraction of the student body by doing that?" Edward said with a whimsical smile.

"As it should be, you're mine now and forever."

"You're forgetting that the boys were thinking of you."

"Oh!" Bella said with surprise.

"They still are enamored with Rosalie though," Edward mumbled.

"As it should be!" Rosalie replied and flipped her hair towards a group of boys.

"Careful, we can't be killing them with heart attacks!" Jasper teased. "We're trying for a normal year!"

Soon the Cullens separated to their respective classes and Bella found herself in English missing Edward dreadfully. "Hi there!" a voice said breaking Bella out of her reverie. "My name is Anna, and you're the new girl!"

"Yes," Bella laughed. "I'm Bella Hale and my family and I are new in town."

"Family? But I saw you and him...." Anna trailed off with a scandalous look upon her face.

"Oh no! He's my boyfriend Edward Cullen. We're not related. It's me, my sister Rosalie and brother Jasper then Edward and his brother Emmett and sister Alice. Carlisle and Esme adopted us when our parents died years ago."

"Wow,"

"Yeah, then we have Carlisle's niece Renesme who is studying at Princeton with her fiance Jacob."

The girl's conversation was soon interrupted by Mr. Adams starting class and forcing Bella to introduce herself to the class. The lecture on Wuthering Heights wasn't anything new to Bella, so she drew back into her happy place and thought about how wonderful it was to be Edward's wife. The bell rang and Bella quickly gathered her things and started to dash out of the class room.

"See you later Bella Cullen," Anna called across the room.

"What?" Bella asked trying not to let the panic seep into her voice.

"Well that's what your notebook says," Anna replied in a sly voice and was gliding towards Bella. Bella looked at her notebook and noticed that Anna was right; on her notebook she had written "Mrs. Bella Cullen" and variants upon her married name all over the notebook. If Bella were still human, she would've also been blushing.

"I have to go," Bella said quickly and forced her way out of the class ignoring Anna's calls behind her.

Next up was History and the class was studying material that Bella remembered from her human life. "It's funny how fast fifty years can go," she commented as she sat next to Jasper.

"Try hundreds!" he said with a grin.

Mrs. Marks' lecture began and she implored students to think what it would've been like for a teen to grow up in the turn of the century; from an era of darkness and confusion to one of change and hope. The two vampires looked at each other and smiled.

The Cullen clan met up together at lunch. Bella was happy to be once more reunited with Edward, the morning apart had been far too long. Upon seeing him sitting in one of the cafeteria chairs, excitement bubbled inside her and she felt like doing a happy dance.

"So Eddy," Emmett said who's booming voice interrupted Bella's thoughts. "Do we have to worry about anyone thinking anything bad about the mysterious Cullens?"

"No," Edward said scanning the cafeteria. "They are thinking about us, but it isn't anything bad. You know, the usual."

Jasper's eyes rolled at this and said," Rosalie is just too pretty. It's no wonder these humans can't stop thinking about us, She is quite possibly the most beautiful thing in existence...well second to Alice that is."

Everyone at the table laughed at Rosalie's smug face and Jasper's wince from something that happened under the table.

"Wait, there's something weird," Edward mumbled.

"What? I haven't seen anything yet," asked Alice.

"Not necessarily anything bad, just weird. That girl who just walked in, she's thinking about us and not in the usual way."

"What do you mean? Does she know our secret?" Rosalie demanded. "I don't want to leave again."

"No, I don't believe she suspects that.

"What's different Edward?" Emmett asked.

"Normal human thoughts about us are normally generic questions about who we are, and where we came from. But there's something different about that girl." Edward said pointing subtlety to Anna who stood by the cafeteria doors and looking at the Cullen's table.

"How different?" asked Jasper.

"She's only thinking about Bella and I need to know why," Edward growled.

"Me!" Bella exclaimed. "What did I do? What does Anna think?"

"She doesn't believe the story about Carlisle and Esme adopting us, thinks we're trying to hide something. She suspects all of us but especially Bella from her reactions to simple questions. She still believes us to be human though."

"Alice?" asked Jasper.

"She's hard to read, but she doesn't seem like she will be a threat to us. Still we need to be careful."

"Yeah, we can't afford another accident," said Rosalie.

"Not the time Rose," said Emmett.

"But her point stands," said Jasper. "We can't be careless."

"Point taken," said Edward. He then took a bite of apple making sure Anna was looking. "Ugh, that was disgusting," he said when he turned back to the group.
