Hey yo yellow-dello!

I'm absolutely swamped with projects to get done before the semester ends. Oh the joys of computer classes! I only have ONE final exam (that I'm not really studying for) the rest are all PROJECTS and not just projects, but monster projects. My list of things to get done by the end of the semester is quite daunting actually. I'm probably not going to sleep a lot between now and the 21st. Lucky me.

Anywho! Christmas cards! I want to get these cards sent out this week. I'm planning on buying something special to put inside the cards, but I need to know who wants one. I'm willing to send cards internationally (YOU GET A CARD, YOU GET A CARD! EVERYONE GETS A CARD!!!) so if you want a card......give me your addy!
I only got three people so far. Just comment at this post (comments are screened) if you want a card!

I also may have stayed up until 3 AM messing around with ringtones I got at Audiko. My text message alert is Eric Northman. "I texted you three times....why didn't you reply?" Because I'm a dork and Eric is awesome.

ALSO. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY TOPHER/BENNETT FIC ANYWHERE? BUELLER? ...BULLER? ....ANYONE? ...ANYONE? They are so dorktastic and adorable together.

Finally, a list: Things I want for Christmas that I probably definitely won't get:
1. iPod connector for Nike+ shoe technology. I want to start running again and I already have Nike+ shoes.
2. Camcorder. Vloging looks cool. I don't want to feel limited to my craptastic quality that is the iSight camera.
3. DVDs I'll actually watch, ie my fandoms. Maybe I'll get Harry Potter....who knows.
4. Dollhouse to be picked up by SOMEONE. (NBC? Please?)
5. A trip somewhere not in the United States (or anywhere I've never been before. I need out of the midwest so bad.)
6. New stereo in the "Disable" since only the radio works. New brakes would be cool too.
7. Wristwarmers
8. Slippers that fit all five of my qualifications: (soft bottom, back, neutral print, low top, fuzzy inside)

EDIT: OH AND DUH! People in the UK. I have a question to ask of you. Is it possible for you to buy some gu puds for me? My friend went to London last year, fell in love with the Gu and can't find them stateside. Even my google-fu can't find any place who sells them around here. NOT EVEN CHICAGO. They will be the PERFECT pressie for her, but I need some help. I'm willing to pay for them and the shipping, and I can send you something that we have stateside that isn't in the UK.

What kind of wristwarmers?

Date: 2009-12-06 11:52 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] calenfenwen.livejournal.com
Warm bulky yarn type. I'm always cold in the winter. I don't have a certain style in mind. I would make a pair myself, but my knitting skillz don't go beyond scarfs because I don't have time to learn more. I haven't seen a wristwarmer I didn't like!

You'll appreciate this. There is a little kid at my mom's work Christmas party (which is at my house) and I'm trying to get him to watch Labyrinth. We got some toys and DVDs for him, and I put Labyrinth in the pile hoping he'll want to watch it. Hopefully the holographic cover will entice him to watch....

Whilst I would happily do a trade for Lucky Charms, gu puddings have to be kept chilled. As in, they would not, I don't think, make it Stateside alive! Next time I go to the shops I will check if they have any that are not chilled though! Maybe they branched out?

Also? do you have my address already? I sent your card out on Friday anyways. :)

Opps, not logged in. That was me.

Ah! I didn't know they needed to be chilled! That would explain why I'm having so much trouble finding them. But I'm happy to trade you for some lucky charms if you do find any! (lucky charms! om nom nom!)

I don't have your addy though! I'll need that. ;)

Hmm, I thought my addy was on your Christmas Card post? My bad. I did discover yesterday that GU do non desert snacks, that are not chilled so would that be a possibility?

That will be fine. Better than fine even! So do you want to do a swap? Lucky charms for some gu? I can buy a box or two and have them sent out to you. Sound good?

In other news, your card is going out in the mail today! Hopefully you should have it before Christmas. :)

Taking our twitter discussion over to lj, because I was tired of 140 characters...California has about 8 different climate zones, so the weather is different everywhere you go. In my hometown, it snows rarely enough that people are still talking about the last time, which was several years ago. Where I am now, it snows even less frequently because of complicated reasons my atmospheric science major roommate could explain, but I can't. Pretty much the only place it snows regularly is in the mountains.

To give you some idea of the level of statewide variation I'm talking about here, on Saturday I was talking to a guy from Orange County, which is by Los Angeles. It was 50ºF outside, and he was shivering and complaining of the cold, and said that when he first moved to Davis he was completely unprepared for the "temperature extremes" we have here. Whereas to me, Davis is maybe only a little colder than where I grew up, but a LOT hotter in the summer.

Anyway, weather. it's crazy.

Yeah, I realized that was an easy question to ask on twitter but not really a good forum to answer said question.

California weather, wow crazy. The only other people I know in Cali live in Santa Barbara area, but we don't talk very often. In Wisconsin, we get all sorts of weather from zomg hot to zomg cold. And it's basically the same type of weather across the whole state. If you're used to weather in the east part of the state, it's the same as in the west. The northwoods get more snow than us usually since they can get lake effect snow.

My dad watches the weather channel for fun and reads a weather blog (I KNOW. MY DAD READS A BLOG!) that is based in Michigan UP, so he's very savvy and the first person to know what's going on.

Well, keep in mind that CA is fucking HUGE compared to most states. We have a lot of room for weird weather.

LOL! I was at school when I made my first comment and after I posted it, my friend leaned over and was like "DUH NATALIE. CALIFORNIA IS HUUUUUGE YA DORK!!"
