I don't want to study for exams, so I wrote this! Pure cuteness!
To [livejournal.com profile] world_president for many things, including but not limiting to: introducing me into the wonderful Doctor Who universe(s) and nagging me on multiple occasions to write some sort of fan fiction again. My first fan fiction in like three or four years, so be nice.

375 Words

It was the holidays, and Ianto was at the mercy of his nagging Aunt Catherine. “Ianto, you work too much! Surely you can afford to take off of work more! It’s not like you are terribly important at the office! What do they have you doing there?” she demanded.
“Accounting” Ianto mumbled. The bad thing about working for a secret government agency is that you can’t tell those you love no matter how much you want to.
“There you have it!” Aunt Catherine cried, “You’re not that important! You must have time to visit us or meet a pretty girl! Too bad things didn’t work out with Lisa. What happened to her again?”
“She died from her injuries from Canary Warf,” Ianto replied dully. “’Scuse me,” Ianto said to his Aunt and briskly walked away from the conversation, ignoring his Aunt’s pleas to return.
As he walked through the house, Ianto was bombarded with questions. Why didn’t he call more often? What was he doing at the office? Did he have a girlfriend? They were the same questions that he faced every time he went home, and he still wasn’t used to lying to his family, maybe the reason he didn’t go home often.
He watched the game with little enthusiasm, and allowed his little nieces and nephews to climb over their favorite Uncle Ianto. His brothers and sister asked him when he would settle down and have children of his own, but Ianto quickly diverted their question.
Everywhere around Ianto, his family were enjoying themselves, but Ianto could only feel very alone. His thoughts drifted to a certain Captain. While the younger children were eyeing gifts under the tree, Ianto couldn’t take it anymore. “I’m sorry, I can’t. I-I-I have to go,” he said as he darted from the room.
“Ianto what’s the matter?” people called after him.
“I just can’t do this. I need Ja-“ he started to say as he pulled on his coat, “Let’s say I need to go.”
Without another word, Ianto drove as fast as he could. After a few hours driving, Ianto reached the Hub, and found Jack.
“What are you doing here?” Jack asked incredulously.
“Well, it’s Christmas, and you spend it with people you love.”
