I AM INCREDIBLY BORED

Seriously, I have nothing to do anymore.

I miss Kayla so much. She left a little less than a month ago, and I've only gone out with someone once since then. ONCE. I've been spending all of my time in one of the three following ways.
1. School
2. Work
3. Doing random internetting and watching tv

I'm so sad and lonely. I miss hanging out with her. The only thing that really kept me going was the thought that I would visit her in September. Well, it's now September. I really hate saying this, but the chances of me going to Chicago in the near future are slim. I was going to tag along with Kayla's mom, but the trip down there has been pushed back until October (if at all).

I'm looking at greyhound and amtrak costs to go down there. For the same dates, Amtrak costs $90 and Greyhound $78.50. You might be saying, "Hey Natalie, you have a car. Why not drive down there yourself?"

OH HELL NO!!!!!! I am not driving down there myself for many reasons. 1. I'll get incredibly lost. 2. I'll get really freaked driving there myself. 3. ZOMG TRAFFIC and 4. I would probably get in an accident and die.

I'm not a bad driver, but I don't handle traffic very well and I would definitely need a copilot to help me drive down there.

Anyway, Kayla is missing me as much as I'm missing her. She asked me to "be totally awesome and send [Kayla] another mix please please please!!!! [I] have fun addicting music!" So I did it. 72 songs made of awesome. I'm listening it right now and really like it. I deleted a few songs since they didn't fit very well. I'll go through it again (and probably remove a few more songs), burn it on some disks, and mail it down to Chicago where it can be awesome and loved by Kayla and Thom.

I MISS HER SO MUCH!!!!! I'M SO SAD AND LONELY!!!!!!!

eta: just got my order from Lush! Yay! Although most of my things were either melty or really warm. Henna, soaps, and buffy were melty, lotions and moisturizer were unpleasantly warm. Stuck those in the freezer to cool off. Flying Fox and shampoo bars are fine though. I also discovered that I like the Lush's vanilla smell. I either love or hate vanilla smelled things, and I love their vanilla. Glad I decided to do the summer lotion sale thing! (now my bank acct will be sad as I buy more vanilla things)

Twilight....With Cheeseburgers.

Try not to laugh. I dare you.

I made my first Lush UK order today since it's a lot cheaper than the North American store. Apparently they are discontinuing Sonic Death Monkey (nooooooooooooo!!!!) and Sweet Japanese Girl (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) among other things so I stocked up in case they don't go retro. Apparently English Countryside is on that list too and I couldn't find it online which is frightening. Sad face!

(Dreamwash, A. Sugar Scrub, Dark Angels, Karma soap, Chox Away, Greased Lightning, and Godmother were also ordered)

Overall, prices cheaper than NA, shipping cheaper than NA, and I've been told that it's faster. But I also heard that UK doesn't give out as many samples as NA does. I requested some, but who knows. Also the naked packaging can be hit and miss, so hopefully it will be safe and protected.

To do yet today:
Rip sound off Clue DVD
Go to school work on Flash stuff
Get LOST tonight, baby you can be my black Kate Moss tonight

I made another lush order.....SHUT UP. It's addicting! But I was a smart shopper. I got a lot of stuff I wanted, and then stuff to put into my stash. YAY! So excited! And it should be here before Valentine's Day, which is a huge plus. Their shipping takes fooooooorever but I'm too cheap to bump it up.

Today I used Loverly in the bath and it was...LOVERLY! Yay! I can still smell the flowers. YES.

Anyway, yesterday I learned that JavaScript is a bitch. I did figure out my homework though. It's going to take me a while to learn it though. Cool old guy Jack (who is in a lot of my classes) had a nice quote when I pointed out the lack of estrogen in the room. "Men and women think differently. It's like putting furniture in a room. Men can take a look around and say 'this chair can fit here, the couch here, table here,' while women have to actually move the furniture in and experiment with it before it fits." SO TRUE. Right now, I'm JavaScript's bitch, but I won't be your bitch...bitch.

Yesterday's Top Chef: Regional cuisine of Green Bay. LULZ! We don't have that! Although you can't think about NFL teams without thinking about the Packers. Come on, we're God's team for one, only team owned by a city, won the first two Super Bowls, Lombardi trophy is named after a Packer coach, WE'RE AWESOME DAMNIT! even though the 2008 season didn't show it well.) I need to find an icon or anything with Fabio or Spike with their Packer stuff.
Since they weren't saying what Fabio or Spike were cooking (until the end), I tried to figure out what would be in the box of "regional foods" and I came up with this list:

  • Cheese/Dairy

  • Cherries

  • Cranberries

  • Venison

  • Sausage or German inspired meats...smoked meats

  • Booyah our family has an AWESOME recipe and you can't go to a fundraiser/picnic deal in the summer/fall in Green Bay without someone selling booyah, but some of the recipes are dodgy.

  • Finka (I don't know how to spell it, but it's really gross stuff made of cow hearts, livers, and just gross. My grandma made it long ago and my uncle now makes it and I think it's disgusting)

  • Krout

  • Pizza dough (TNT Pizza Crust is based out of Green Bay)

Anyway, I thought I knew what was going on with lost for about five minutes yesterday then they had to throw in some more plot twists. Damn them.

Right, I need to go read the awesome drabbles at [livejournal.com profile] dramione_ldws and you should too because I wrote one of them! It's going to be tough to vote though.
ETA: I read through them all, and damn that was a hard decision! I liked A LOT of them and I think mine pales in comparison. Is it Saturday yet? I want to know the results!

So I never had a migraine before...

...but I think I did this morning. I woke up and felt like crying because my head hurt so much. It's funny because I woke up about two hours before my alarm went off and I was like "haHA! I'm alert-ish and I can sleep in before going to work! I ended up calling sick into work because I could hardly function or make breakfast or anything.

Anyway, I took a bath with my karma bath melt (zomg, glitter monster exploded!) which was nice. Then, I spent most of that time chilling in the computer room with my hood up on my sweatshirt. It didn't really want to go away but it finally did. WORST HEADACHE EVER. I've been having a lot of headaches lately. Yesteday's was bad, but today's took the cake. Actually, I have a small one right now actually, but it seems like I have one almost all the time now. UGH!

What ARE the symptoms of a migraine anyway? I can't seem to remember the commercials or anything. When I told my parents I've been having frequent headaches and especially todays, they thought it might be a migraine, but they aren't really sure what's involved since no one in our family gets them. I know I can look up symptoms, but I'll probably get sidetracked with headaches in general then leave with the idea that I have cancer or something.

After my headache of death went away, I made cookies for the bunco party tonight. I'm in a league with my mom and a few ladies from church. It's funny because almost everybody brought dessert! I didn't win anything from bunco, but my mom won the booby prize: bottle of wine and chocolate bar that looks like a fish. I'm so happy that I can finally go to bunco again! Yay for my class schedule being awesome! (although I still can't go to book club on Mondays, never have and probably never will)

WHY IS IT SO FREEZING IN THIS HOUSE????

Lastly: there is still so much glitter everywhere. My bed....my clothes....my hair...my skin...my bathroom....you name a location I've been, and there's glitter. I'm hesitant to use my other lush stuff with glitter since this had SO MUCH. I read the reviews and I didn't think there was that much glitter, but I was wrong. Plus side: really nice bath! bitch to clean

YAYAYAY!

I got all of my lush stuff today! Awesome blossom! So excited. It was post shower so I couldn't try any of my new shampoo bar, conditioner bar, shower jellies or soap, but whatever. I like all of the smells of everything though. Only thing I'm not impressed with is Let Them Eat Cake. It smells weird, has a weird texture and doesn't taste very good, and as a lip balm, that's important! It smells more like vanilla extract than cake, but eh, maybe it will grow on me. Whatever.

I unpackaged everything on the steps because I was that excited. Love love love!!! Although the disappointment with LTEC is a prime example of why I need a lush store by me. It's hard to pick stuff out when you can't try it in the store first. AND all the reviews are different, some people love things and some people hate it. LTEC is a product that a lot of people seemed to love, but I guess it's not for me.

Not giving up on it though! At least I got it during the after christmas sale, I got a good deal.

And they sent me coupons!!! yayayayay! Good since I got stuff I'm running out of, more stuff I want to try, and I got paid yesterday. Recipe for greatness or disaster...you decide!

ALL I CAN TASTE IS VANILLA!!! It's all I san smell and taste and I'm not the biggest fan of vanilla. I like it, but this is tooooooo much.....not giving up on this.

Few minutes later: I don't smell or taste vanilla anymore and my lips are really nice. So maybe if I can just get past the first five minutes I'll be alright.

Well....The Golden Globes. What a show. Tony Shalhoub didn't win, meaning at my old high school there won't be a note of congratulations to him in the announcements like my freshman year there. BEST SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENT EVER. SRLY.

I'm also impressed that the internet hasn't exploded due to Heath Ledger yet. Maybe.

I made the BEST banana bread ever today. It's the same recipe I've been using for years and I love it so much.

Brother went back to school today and he's probably getting ready for winter carnival sculptures since they can start when the clock strikes midnight.

Kayla is apparently having an awesome time in London and I'm trying not to be jealous since she worked really hard to get there and one day I'll have my chance. (and she's going to be getting me something!!) So I'm just excited really.

I really miss T:SSC. It needs to come back, February 13 is too far away. But at least shows are starting to come back...even though I didn't catch up on shows I thought I would during break. Whatever. I need to catch up on: Merlin, True Blood, Beautiful People, and a list of shows that J-Wall has for me that I have written down. And buffy/angel.

I'm also sadly running out of Lush stuff. I'm planning on making a new order once I get paid again, so yay for that.

Eiffel Tower

This is my friend Stephanie's pic (sorry the html is being a bitch), if you're awesome you will vote for her! :3 Thanks! (also a reminder for me to vote once a day) And if you're in the voting mood: Voting for Green Bay will be really cool since they donate cans to the local food pantry. Also once a day thing if you're interested.

Work was really slow. I spent most of my time reading Shattered Mirror by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. I liked it...even though I spotted some mistakes in there. "Brothes" instead of Brother and "I" instead of "me" once. Still liked it, and hell it's better than what I could write so I can't judge. I'll read the next book tomorrow so I can give them back to Kayla when she returns from her amazing trip to London/Dublin...where ever she is now. One of the two cities anyway.

But I did have to call UPS Canada twice and regular UPS not at all. Pam was especially AWESOME and I was ready to call the customer back with the AMAZING news and I had to lmom (leave message on machine) it. As a customer service individual, I LOVE hearing two words: thank you (especially when I had to do a lot of work for them. Not being polite makes me less inclined to do more work for people. Write that down and suck it.

I also got conned by some Alabama woman. She said that she needed compensation for the unnecessary drive to the store she had to take. I offered her a gift card. She asked how much (ugh greedy mcgreederson) $10. Wasn't enough. Asked what she was expecting. $35!! Nevertheless, I had to relay the request to a sup, who granted it. Whatever. I later googled the two cities, and they aren't even 20 miles apart. Bitch. Unless she drives a tank, she didn't need $35.

I also emailed Lush cust serv, and they are behind schedule due to the amount of orders and bad weather conditions=not everyone getting to the factory to fix stuff. They also are going to upgrade my shipping so it still arrives in the timeframe promised. Yay lush! :3 I love them.

Also: found the song at the end of Ugly Betty. It's La Ritournelle by Sébastien Tellier if anyone is interested, because I know it was driving ME crazy at least!

I take it back.  I love this stuff.  In November I got a stash of Lush and I bought volcano foot mask.  I tried it then and wasn't impressed at all.  I decided to give it another go and so far it's actually working and following it's product description.  I still don't like the smell, but it's on my feet and wrapped in cling wrap and my slippers.  I won't be smelling my feet anytime soon and I got it off of my hands asap.  But it's nice and tingly warm (and sometimes burning which feels fantastic)  Hopefully it will work when I wash it off!

I'm also getting really impatient that my new stash hasn't shipped yet.  If I don't hear anything by tomorrow night, I'll give cust serv a call.  They're probably incredibly backed up, but they already took the money out of my checking account.

Anyway, I woke up this morning and couldn't hear out of my ear...again.  It's a little better, but I still can't hear.  Whatever.

I'm going to try to get my brother to get my car's oil changed for me since I don't feel like going out.  Besides what would I even do while waiting for it to get done?  Besides#2, I would have to get dressed in normal clothes.  I'm currently wearing random shirt I don't wear in public paired with boho chic sparkly skirt....and I have volcano on my feet.  I don't want to ask him now since he just got back from doing the same thing for my parents.  Besides#3, they'll probably try to sucker me in and buying a super deluxe package deal that I don't need.

My room is a mess.  I attempted to clean it a few weeks ago, but it just got messier.  I haven't really done anything since.  oops.

But yesterday I found out some facts: I can still fit in the following things:
  • Junior Prom/Junior Girls dress (spring 2005) but barely, apparently my boobs have grown a lot since HS
  • 2004-2005 Show choir dress (it's really cheap looking)
  • Senior year Homecoming dress (fall 2005), still looks really pretty I still love the beading
I was going to try my 2005-06 show choir dress but I got cold from standing around in almost nothing putting on dresses.  (The heat in the house lowers at night so it was cold in the house)  Moral of the story, feels good that I'm still at my high school weight...sort of.

I should also get my voting done for [livejournal.com profile] dramione_awards and consider some more about signing up for [livejournal.com profile] dramione_ldws  even though I wasn't that good last round.  But it is an excuse to get some writing done (so I can practice for my crack!secret project I mentioned a few weeks ago.)  There, gave you a clue, it's something dramione related...and writing.  Two clues, I'm so generous.

One of these days I'll create a LJ layout for myself, but until then, I'll be taking other people's pretty layouts.
Let's see how long this one will last. At least I still made a profile layout today!! Yay tables. (still took me longer than it should've)

Oh LJ! How you make me feel like my hours at school are for naught, I still can't make a LJ layout.
and I still don't know how to use Photoshop. At least Dreamweaver is this semester.

DUDE! I need to get a desktop soon, that Adobe software pack soon, and try not to spend every penny I get on Lush. I made a list the other day, and it's like $200 worth of stuff, and it's not including the stuff I ordered a week ago (and still hasn't shipped yet! eek!) I know they must be extremely busy with their after Christmas sale, but I want my stuff!

Oh, I didn't tell you what I spent the time between the two posts doing: going through my grandpa's boxes and boxes and bags and envelopes of state quarters and putting them into books. Even though there's over $100 in quarters, there still isn't enough to complete a book. My fingers hurt now because the slots for the quarters are smaller than the quarters so it takes a lot of pushing to make them fit. Also my thumb has a metallic shine to it. lulz.

I'm also tired, but my brother's friends (well Simon too) are here and are loud. I don't know why I'm tired, but I've been eating a lot today too. Ugh.

Not how I wanted to wake up, but whatever.

I woke up with my head feeling very heavy (not so much now) and it's hard to hear out of my ears. ughs. Then work called wondering if I could come in asap. I already have an 8 hour shift today but I'm aiming to go in around 12:30 ish. During my review, my boss Annie asked me to try to pick up more trades and hot spots because I wasn't doing that before....I would've if I could've.

I'll write about my awesome day that was yesterday and the wtf-ery that was work yesterday (and probably today too)

Of course my worst ear is the one that I put my headset on. *grumblecakes*

I WAS GOING TO TAKE A LOOOOOOONG BATH TODAY BUT NOOOOOO WORK HAD TO CALL
also my new lush stuff neeeds to turn up soon. Then I need to wait for them to restock so I can replace some of my stuff that's running low. Crazy addiction.

Dear Student,
We regret to inform you that the class you enrolled in, as outlined below, has been cancelled.

Seriously??? I get this email the day after I buy my books. SERIOUSLY? I got one of these emails a few weeks ago, but it was followed immediately by a "oops, disregard that email" a few minutes later. The same class too. And the alternate classes they suggest don't work with my schedule. Bastards.

Anyway, today I found my sample of henna I requested many months ago, and I decided to do a strand test. I got some hair from some brushes and mixed up a batch of henna. Mmm hay smell. It's a little watery than it should be, I didn't let the dye release long enough, and it's sort of old, but that shouldn't be a huge problem. It's an experiment anyway. If I like how it turns out, I'll consider buying Caca Rouge or Caca Marron or some grams of pure henna from the site I got the free sample from.

I have no idea what color it's going to be. From a distance, it's quite dark. Sort of up close it's a little lighter. Individual strands are surprisingly light and are sort of red. SO CURIOUS!! BE DONE HENNA!

Either way, I won't do anything now (besides Lush is out of stock) because I hate my hair now. It's a stupid length and blerg. It's just taking too long to grow. I think I'll like the length come February though. Maybe I should pay the money to get it trimmed.

Getting back to the henna, it's sitting in cling wrap by a heat vent keeping warm so the dyes will be released. I also added some lemon juice, paprika, and camomile tea to encourage it. It's been soaking for three hours, so another three hours to go! Hurray! I'll post pics when it's done! Yes!

You know, doing henna would be a fantastic excuse to sit around and watch all million hours of Pride and Prejudice. Maui, loves it!

SO! Posh Tosh is acting up, so I'm on the parent's PC looking over books and trying to find the cheapest option. Yep. However, something frightening occurred:

As you can see, Twilight is taking over the world. It makes an unpleasent topic (databases) full of lulz in a non lulz world that is databases. It's also weird that my first reaction to "Dumbledore" was "Dumbledore is gay!!"

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go find more books. School's bookstore is super lame and only gave the last 3/4 numbers of the ISBN which makes it difficult to find the right book without having to buy it from the bookstore. I don't want to buy stuff there!!!!!! Too expensive!!!

...stupid books.

ETA: .....it's cheaper to buy the books at school (assuming I get all used books anyway).  Daaaaaaaaaaaaaang.  Still really expensive though, more than my last paycheck.
ETA2: Just kidding, I found some cheaper books.  I still need to buy one, but I don't need it until April so I'll worry about that then.  Also, if you are planning to use half.com, there's a promo for $5 for new users: HOLIDAYBOOKS08 it expires at the end of the year though!!

ETA FTW: Sale at lush.com which is made of pure win.  When you buy ONE of their holiday items, they give you another for free!  Yes.....although a lot of their stuff is sold out/not on their website.  The day a Lush store is within 30 miles from my house will be trouble my friends....
I love online shopping!  So many deals!  Merry Christmas Natalie!!!
